What is your definition of a colored pencil?

COLORED PENCIL Magazine recognizes a colored pencil to be; any medium that has an encased pigmented core.

For entry into our annual Art Competition and monthly Art Challenges, artwork must be 80% colored pencil.

Oil-based colored pencils
Water-soluble colored pencils
Pastel pencils
Derwent Inktense
Derwent Graphitint

Does NOT include:
Graphite pencils
Pastel sticks
Pan Pastels
Derwent Artbar
